It was built by the freemason William Leigh and since his death in 1873 the Mansion has been the focus of investigations into its unusual symbology and hauntings. After 39 years of managing the continual construction of the Mansion, Sarah passed away in her sleep aged 83 years old. Many strange events have occurred over the years and they are still reported today. Psychics have visited the house and believe that many spirits wander the house, along with the ghost of Sarah Winchester! There have been many unusual encounters including footsteps, banging doors, strange voices and the famous cold spots. It is one of the most unusual if not haunted house in America.
