i was out walking/running/sprinting from 630am-930pm & i my legs are damn tired.
geotrail was a killer under the scorching hot sun. to add on to that, the buses we took didnt cooperate with us. all of them drove really slowly and one jst didnt wanna open the door to let us it although he saw us!
our route :
NUS ->
Marine Parade Library (this was easy to find. since we knw the place) ->
Seah Im Food Centre (this was hard. coordinates given were wrong! but des spotted the name!) ->
Er, Mosque. arnd Arab street that area (this was easy cus we had Ira, but clue had spelling mistake. tsktsk) ->
Toa Payoh Bus Interchange (we ran past the station without knowing. the station marshall was a bit**) ->
Clark Quay (not too bad. managed to reach in time) ->
NUS (we would have reached at 330 but as the bus driver of bus 10 didnt wanna open the door to let us in, we had to take another bus which resulted in us getting lost in the science faculty of NUS for about 45mins. thus, reporting 20mins in the end. kns. )
so we got back really really late. sighhh.
BUT! we were actually the top 10 schools for the preliminary rounds! whooohoooooo! top 10 out of 54 schools. NOT BAD RIGHT. at least this shows that we aint jst muscles okay :D

so anyway, top 3 who got into final round were RI, RGS and Hwa Chong. (expected right)
RGS won the overall thingy. and guess where are they heading? to san diago (i dnt knw how u spell it) to represent singapore in the world geog challenge thingy! cooool.
it was fun but REALLY tiring. esp to do this kinda thing in spore's weather. sigh. had dinner with aloy after the thing ended. than we decided to go to tiong bharu there to walk arnd. i wanted to buy shoes but i couldnt find any nice ones. i wanted to go running & swimming tmr. but my legs are still tired from sprinting around NUS Science Faculties.
Lessons Learnt :
1. Start the whole challenge being really enthu.
2. Don't walk to the stations, have a sense of urgency
3. Don't buy snacks on the way
4. Don't try and be friendly to the station marshalls. Some are such assholes.
5. Practice WORD SEARCH!
p.s : we were the first 6 teams to get solve the word search and get our route to start the journey. but were we the first 6 teams to arrive back at NUS? HA. fat hope.Labels: Geotrail
